For participants having breakfast and/or dinner at a central location, tournament dining halls are located in Steinbourg (at the sport venue), Dettwiller (school canteen at about 150 metres of sport complex) and Bouxwiller (school canteen at about 500 metres from the pitches of Bouxwiller and about 1500 metres from the pitches of Imbsheim). On Saturday and Sunday, it is possible to have lunch at the sport locations (French fries, sausages, hamburger, meat, mini pizza) for a reasonable price. The lunch can be ordered in the morning so that queuing can be avoided at lunch time.

The Vosges is a breathtaking corner of (north east) France. The Alsace, which is part of this countryside, has a multitude of friendly villages, such as Steinbourg, Dettwiller and Imbsheim, in which the connoisseurs among us will immediately feel at home.

Castle Lichtenberg is about 6 miles away. Teams who want to make a quick trip, can visit the castle of Lichtenberg, close to Dettwiller. The castle was built in the 12th and 16th century on top of a hill. From the tower you have a beautiful view over the area.

Strasbourg (24 miles, 300,000 inhabitants). Strasbourg, the heart of the Alsace and 'capital' of Europe, is situated at the border of the Rhine right next to Germany. In the old town you will find beautiful buildings, nice alleys and a lot of entertainment. A couple of hours is not enough to explore the city, so you have to make a choice. The most important monument is the impressing cathedral. Between here and the 'La Petite France', a district of the town with winding alleys, the city is filled with nice, lively streets with shops, restaurants and 'Winstub' (Alsatian taverns).

Saverne (between 8 and 15 miles, 15.000 inhabitants) offers a very lively center and a very nice pedestrian area. The magnificent Castle of Rohans, located on the edges of the Marne-Rhine canal, and the lock situated in the town center give Saverne a special image that reminds of the prosperous history of this place. The castle Haut-Barr and the Bridge of the Devil are worth seeing as well.

The organisers of the Alsace Cup have built up a prominent reputation as host within the Euro-Sportring program. Hospitality, friendliness, competence - these are words that you find in most comments of the participants. The warm and personal welcome on Friday in Steinbourg is the starting point of a sportive weekend in a friendly atmosphere.

On Saturday, most of the preliminary matches will take place, with a break devoted to an official welcome of the teamleaders by the local authorities. After the sport program, room is left for a visit to Strasbourg or Saverne, a cosy evening in Alsatian villages, or a peptalk of the coach for the next matches.

On Sunday, the competition will resume with classification matches, followed by finals and a lively prize-giving ceremony for all participants in one of the organising villages.
